The motif of this drawing is the shapes and their orthagonals. The size, value and placement of the shapes bring emphasis to the upper right. I used dark lines to make some things appear closer than others. Also, creating the illusion of space and making some shapes go through others. The art elements included are line, shape form, and value. All of these together create space in the drawing.
For the parallelograms in space drawing, I learned how to create space using different pencils and variation in the size of the parallelograms. The media of the drawing is pencil and the motif is the parallelograms. The art elements used are line, shape and space. These elements create movement in the drawing. Looking at the drawing, the eye is drawn to the different layers and since some of the chains of parallelograms weave in and out of different layers it can creat somewhat of a busy, chaotic, dizzying sense. The motif of this line drawing is swirling polygons. I have used a variety of shapes such as hexagons, triangles, squares, and rectangles to create illusions. The direction of lines creates a flowing pattern. I used only a pencil and a ruler to create this design. In order to create the illusion evident in this drawing I learned about how to make certain lines appear closer than others. Lighter lines and polygons appear further away than lines drawn darker. |
